Throughout the year, each congregation has its own worship service but we come together periodically for some special services.
Anniversary Service. Anniversaries are always a good time to celebrate, and we support each other’s special Sunday. When Spencerville celebrates its anniversary, the service time is changed to 11:00 a.m., and Prescott cancels its service so people can join Spencerville in the celebration, and vice versa when it’s Prescott’s anniversary.
Annual Meeting. The annual meeting follows Sunday worship. When it’s time for Spencerville’s Annual Meeting, worship time is switched that Sunday: Prescott’s service is at 9:15 a.m., and Spencerville’s at 11:00, with the Annual Meeting following.
Christmas Eve. Christmas Eve services are held at 4:00 p.m. at St. Andrew’s in Prescott, and at 7:00 p.m. at St Andrew’s-Knox in Spencerville.
Communion Services. We celebrate Holy Communion 10 times a year on the first Sunday of the month (except January).
Maundy Thursday. We celebrate Maundy Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in Spencerville for both congregations. Holy Communion and the Office of the Tenebrae are observed at this service.
Good Friday. A special Good Friday service is held at St. Andrew’s, Prescott.
Easter. A special “sunrise” Easter service is held at St. Andrew’s-Knox, Spencerville, followed by a pancake breakfast. Then everyone heads over to St. Andrew’s, Prescott for the Easter service.
Remembrance Day. Each Church celebrates Remembrance Day during worship on the Sunday before November 11.
